By accessing or using AThetaLife.com, you agree to these Terms of Use and to the AThetaLife Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the site.

About AThetaLife

AThetaLife provides tools and informational resources intended to help users visualize, explore and reflect on personal time horizons, planning decisions and longer-term conditions that may affect the years ahead.

Current AThetaLife features may include lifespan estimates and timelines, custom and saved timelines, career, family and retirement-planning tools, Navigation Check features, notes, Observatory reports and other educational or planning content.

Features may be added, modified, reorganized or removed as AThetaLife develops.

Informational and Planning Purposes Only

AThetaLife is intended as an informational, educational, reflective and planning resource. It is not a substitute for professional advice.

AThetaLife does not provide medical, financial, investment, retirement, tax, legal, psychological or other licensed professional advice.

You should consult an appropriately qualified professional when professional advice is needed for your circumstances.

Lifespan Estimates

Lifespan estimates generated by AThetaLife are illustrative planning estimates only.

They are not predictions of an individual's actual lifespan, date of death, health outcome or future condition.

Many factors affecting lifespan are uncertain, may change over time and may not be represented by an AThetaLife calculation.

You should not make medical, legal, financial, insurance or other significant decisions solely on the basis of an AThetaLife lifespan estimate.

Career, Family and Retirement Planning

AThetaLife planning tools are designed to help users organize and visualize possible timelines, goals, milestones and scenarios.

Career, family, retirement, financial or other planning information displayed by AThetaLife is not a recommendation that any particular action, investment, expenditure, retirement date or life decision is appropriate for you.

You remain responsible for evaluating your own circumstances and obtaining professional advice when appropriate.

Navigation Check

Navigation Check is a reflective planning tool. Scores, strengths, observations or other results are intended to support personal reflection and planning.

Navigation Check is not a psychological, medical, vocational or financial assessment and should not be interpreted as a professional diagnosis, evaluation or certification.

AThetaLife Observatory

The AThetaLife Observatory presents information concerning long-term conditions, scientific evidence, measured trends, possible future scenarios, responses and potential pathways.

Observatory material is informational and educational. It is not a prediction or guarantee that a particular condition will occur at a particular time.

Scientific measurements, projections, policies, technologies and circumstances can change. Observatory reports may therefore be revised as new evidence becomes available.

References to possible condition pathways, target windows or future scenarios should not be interpreted as certainty about future events.

User Responsibility

You are responsible for how you interpret and use information provided through AThetaLife.

• Do not rely solely on AThetaLife when making significant medical, financial, legal, retirement, career or other life decisions.
• Review information critically and consult appropriate professionals when necessary.
• When using calculators or planning tools, provide information that is reasonably accurate if you want the resulting visualization to be meaningful.
• You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of information that is important to you.

Local Data and Data Persistence

In the current AThetaLife MVP, much of the personal planning information created through AThetaLife tools is stored locally in your web browser using browser storage such as localStorage.

AThetaLife does not guarantee that locally stored information will remain available indefinitely.

Local information may be lost or become unavailable if you clear browser data, change devices or browsers, use certain private-browsing settings, reinstall software, experience device failure or encounter other technical problems.

Information that is important to you should not be stored solely in AThetaLife browser storage.

Availability of the Service

AThetaLife seeks to provide reliable access to the site but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or continuous availability.

Access may occasionally be interrupted by maintenance, hosting problems, Internet outages, security events, technical failures or other circumstances beyond AThetaLife's control.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse AThetaLife or interfere with its operation.

Without limiting the foregoing, you agree not to:

• attempt unauthorized access to the site, systems or services;
• intentionally disrupt, overload or damage the site or its infrastructure;
• introduce malicious software or harmful code;
• use automated systems in a manner that places unreasonable load on the site;
• reproduce, republish or commercially exploit protected AThetaLife content except as permitted by law or with authorization;
• use the service for unlawful purposes.

Intellectual Property

AThetaLife branding, original text, software, page design, graphics, interfaces, tools, timelines and other original materials are owned by AThetaLife or used under applicable licenses, except where otherwise identified.

Government, scientific, photographic or other third-party materials appearing in Observatory reports or elsewhere remain subject to the rights, licenses, public-domain status or attribution requirements applicable to those materials.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of AThetaLife intellectual property to a user.

Third-Party Information and Links

AThetaLife may reference or link to government agencies, scientific institutions, external websites, service providers or other third-party resources.

AThetaLife does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices or terms.

A reference or link does not necessarily imply endorsement of every statement, product or activity of the referenced organization.

Kickstarter and Other Crowdfunding Rewards

AThetaLife may offer access periods, founding designations, digital certificates, badges, recognition or other benefits through Kickstarter or another crowdfunding platform.

The specific benefits of a crowdfunding reward are determined by the reward description presented in the applicable campaign.

Unless a campaign expressly states otherwise, AThetaLife access provided as a crowdfunding reward is a fixed prepaid access period and does not automatically renew when that period ends.

A crowdfunding backer will not be automatically enrolled into a paid AThetaLife subscription merely because a campaign access period expires.

If continuation of service is available after the prepaid access period, the user may decide whether to obtain that service under the terms offered at that time.

Founding Designations

Certain crowdfunding rewards may include designations such as Charter Member, Charter Steward or Legacy Steward.

Unless otherwise stated in the applicable reward, such designations represent founding recognition and do not create ownership, equity, governance, voting rights, employment, partnership or authority over AThetaLife.

Invitations to provide feedback, participate in previews or receive founder updates do not guarantee that suggestions will be adopted or implemented.

Included and Future Features

A prepaid AThetaLife access period includes qualifying AThetaLife member features made generally available within the applicable access period, subject to the terms of the applicable reward or service offering.

Unless expressly promised, access does not necessarily include every future product, third-party service, separately priced premium service or offering that may later be developed by AThetaLife.

AThetaLife may modify features as technology, operating requirements and the service evolve.

Future Paid Services and Subscriptions

AThetaLife may introduce paid memberships, subscriptions, account services or other paid offerings in the future.

Any future recurring subscription will be subject to the pricing, renewal, cancellation and other terms disclosed when that subscription is offered.

AThetaLife will not treat a fixed Kickstarter or crowdfunding access reward as authorization for future recurring charges.

Changes to the Service

AThetaLife may modify, improve, replace, suspend or discontinue features or portions of the service as the platform evolves.

Where a user has received a specifically defined prepaid access reward or other paid entitlement, AThetaLife will honor that entitlement in accordance with the terms under which it was offered, subject to applicable law and circumstances beyond AThetaLife's reasonable control.

This does not guarantee that every feature, interface or technical implementation will remain unchanged throughout an access period.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AThetaLife and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

AThetaLife does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that information will always be complete or current, that locally stored data will always remain available, or that any particular planning or future outcome will occur.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AThetaLife will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from or related to use of, or inability to use, the site.

This includes, without limitation, loss resulting from reliance on planning information, loss of locally stored data, interruption of service or use of third-party resources.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Privacy

Your use of AThetaLife is also governed by the AThetaLife Privacy Policy .

Changes to These Terms

AThetaLife may update these Terms as the site, services, business model or applicable requirements change.

When material revisions are made, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
